Accrington Stanley 3 Silkmen 0

It was a bad day at the office for Macc yesterday afternoon at Accrington.  A poor display and three soft goals conceded.  No wins on the board after three games.  Things can only get better?

I'm not so sure...

Gary Simpson went with 3 strikers again with Vinny Mukendi, Emile Sinclair and Tyrone Barnett playing in various positions.  Mukendi is a young player who is still learning the ropes so I am not sure why he is starting the game especially after Barnett's and Sinclair's performances in pre season.  I think Vinny will be on the bench next Saturday.

Sean McConville was Accrington's star player yesterday.  He scored twice in the first half and got his hat-trick with a lucky deflection off Morgan's head in the second.  Stats don't lie and with Macc having 0 shots on target says it all.  Not good.  Not good at all.

Annual accounts show that the club will have to sell players if we don't go up
The club released the annual accounts for the 2022/3 season this week, and despite the headline figure of an overall loss of £33.7 million, we’re not in danger of any points deduction for now. But the accumulated losses mean that player sales will be inevitable in the summer if we remain in the Championship.
