I find nothing but sorrow to see a great club ravaged by owners who promised the world and have now hocked the club up in dept, but they could be in administration this week
Just had a quick peak at the Championship table in 2012 when we last got promoted.
We went up in second place with 88 points, Reading were Champions with 89.
West Ham were 3rd on 86 and Cardiff had the final play off spot on 75 points.
Compare that with this year were the top two are already on 89 & 88 & Leeds have 87, Norwich in 6th already have 71.
The dichotomy of this season could be that the much derided Russell Might fail to get automatic promotion despite getting more points than the much loved Nigel Adkins.
Many football fans know that The Proclaimers are massive Hibs fans and that their song Sunshine On Leith is sung at games.
But something a lot do not realise is that many years ago , brothers Craig and Charlie both worked as groundsmen for the club. They got the sack after players complained that the grass was too long and it ruined their passing game. The brothers blamed this on DIY store B and Q They went to branches at Bathgate no mower, Linwood no mower, Irvine no mower, Lochaber no mower, Sutherland no mower, Lewis no mower, Skye no mower..........
One thing that surprised me yesterday or in some respects didn't surprise me was the number of people who stormed out when Watford equalised.
I was surprised as one thing we know this season is that this team scores a lot of late goals, so just because they equalised didn't mean the game was lost, especially as there were still probably 10 minutes left given 5 mins of normal time plus injury time, why would you leave when the season is at a crucial stage and the game is still there to be won ?
I wasn't surprised because people were leaving before the equaliser, up by me and indeed other parts of the ground, people seem to leave with 10 mins left whatever the state of play on the field.
Again I don't get this people have paid good money to see 90 minutes of football, why leave early, if you go to see a film, you don't leave 10 minutes from the end before you know how it is going to end.
6.45 is the time we will find out just what is in Russell Martin's mind re team selection.
Will Jack Stephens be played up front as Russell seemed concerned about our lack of goals at Blackburn, if so will he be used as a central striker or out wide.
Just what is the point in this, they have broken the rules and it seems the League is determined to deduct just enough so that they are seen to be punished but not go down and then the legal wrangles
