In the aftermath of Leeds defeat against high flying Hull, the grim news that Ross McCormack has chipped part of the bone in his ankle means Leeds could be without their talismanic striker until November.

The prognosis isn't good for last-seasons top scorer McCormack, who sustained a swollen ankle after just three minutes of last Saturday's defeat at Cardiff. Apparently part of his ankle bone is chipped and he faces 6/8 weeks on the sidelines and may have to undergo an operation later this week.

Earlier, Leeds had been linked with Stoke City's Kenwyn Jones on loan, along with big spenders Leicester City.

In his Hull City programme notes, Owner Ken Bates acknowledged Neil Warnock's desire to use the loan-market but warned against signing players to merely up the squad numbers.

So looks like its a case of using Messers Becchio, Diouf, Gray and Poleon as well as Davide Somma when fit.
