Saints got back on track with a win at Burnley

Saints put the disapointment of Bristol City behind them and got three vital points at Turf Moor that kept them in touching distance of the promotion places.

But once again george Burley must be disapointed by the fact that although Saints scored three, they once again conceded two.

But it was all change once again in the back four as Jonh Viafara was put in at centre back alongside Wayne Thomas whilst Christian daily played as the holding player in midfield.

Saints could not have got off to a better start as BWP put them ahead and they then hit the woodwork on more than one occasion, before Jason Euell scored his first goal for the club to give them a two goal cushion.

But this was Saints and after this start, that could have seen Saints go four up, Burnley reduced the arrears on the half hour mark but Saints held the lead at the break.

After the turn round Saints soon restored the two goal margin when Stern John hit his fourth goal in as many games.

Either side could have then scored in the next half hour but it was Burnley who did when the scored with seven minutes remaining.

Burnley could have equalised but Saints remained firm and indeed they had their own chances to score again, but after four minutes of injury time the referee blew to give Saints a well earned three points from a great game, but once again they look at the table and look at those thrown away on Wednesday, even a point at Bristol alongside these three would have changed the shape of the league.
