Macclesfield or Cambridge For The Swans

Disappointing - But Chance To Progress

Dreams of Manchester United or Chelsea were shattered this afternoon as the Swans were handed a home tie in Round 3 of the FA Cup - Macclesfield or Cambridge will visit the Vetch on the weekend of 3rd January.

You dream when you have entered this stage of the competition of one of the bug guns but it wasn't to be this time for Swansea although we have to take the positive that this gives us a great chance to progress to the 4th round of the competition. Five all Premiership ties were drawn with fellow promotion chasers Yeovil landing the dream draw of Liverpool at home.

Swans though will have to wait a week to find out their opponents after the 1-1 draw at Moss Rose between the two sides yesterday. With the four round quite possibly beckoning this cup run is starting to sound quite lucrative especially when you consider that third round winners get £50,000. What we have to ensure is that we don't go out of the cup with this tie.

Disappointed yes, but it could have been more disappointing.

The Full draw is as follows

Wimbledon v Stoke City Cardiff City v Sheffield United Wycombe Wanderers or Mansfield Town v Burnley Crewe Alexandra v Telford United Bristol City or Barnsley v Scunthorpe United or Sheffield Wednesday Portsmouth v Blackpool Northampton Town v Rotherham United Fulham v Cheltenham Town Manchester City v Leicester City Southampton v Newcastle United Yeovil Town v Liverpool Birmingham City v Blackburn Rovers Nottingham Forest v West Bromwich Albion Watford v Chelsea Kidderminster Harriers v Wolverhampton Wanderers Gillingham v Carlton Athletic Swansea City v Macclesfield Town or Cambridge United Leeds United v Arsenal Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace Aston Villa v Manchester United Southend United v Port Vale or Scarborough Sunderland v Hartlepool United Tranmere Rovers v Bolton Wanderers Preston North End v Reading Wigan Athletic v West Ham United Middlesbrough v Notts County Ipswich Town v Derby County Coventry City v Peterborough United Everton v Norwich City Bournemouth or Accrington Stanley v Colchester United Bradford City v Luton Town Millwall v Walsall
