It's been a long hard slog in the league since the end of September with just seven league wins in the last 32 games telling it's own story, and the fact that we still lie 10th in the league tells a story on how good the first 11 games of the season really were.
But sadly that has become a distant memory and now it is nothing but pride, and maybe future contracts, that the Swans have to play for against a Northampton side who are still in with a chance of the end of season lottery that is the play-offs.
The Swans will definitely be without player of the season elect Andy Robinson who has injured knee ligaments and is unlikely to feature in the three remaining games of the season. Stuart Jones is expected to be fit for the game but there will be no return for James Thomas who has a thigh problem.
For the Cobblers. Rob Ullathorne has been struggling with a hamstring injury and is likely to miss out for the Cobblers and be replaced by Chris Carruthers.
Boss Colin Calderwood has expressed his desire to keep changing his forward-line so will choose any combination from Marc Richards, John Taylor, Eric Sabin, and Martin Smith in attack. Richards will make his first return to the Vetch Field since scoring a few goals at the end of last season that helped ensure the Swans were still a league club to play in this fixture.
After five successive league defeats and the embarrassment at Rhyl surely the time must be for now to see Kenny Jackett take his first managerial win since taking over earlier this month from Brian Flynn.
It is pride left to play for and hopefully there will be enough left in our players to secure a win over someone, who after 1997, it will always give me great pleasure to beat!
