Saddle Up, It's The LDV Vans Trophy

The draw has been kind to us so far as we anticipate a third consecutive home tie and with the prospect of a two legged affair against either Colchester or Cheltenham for the winners this really could be the first plans of a Jack invasion of Cardiff and the Millennium Stadium.

And a Lee Trundle-less Swansea won 5-2 at Walsall earlier in the season so that has to be good news doesn't it? Mind you, if the papers are to believed then Walsall assistant manager Steve Staunton was so impressed with Lee Trundle he is considering him for a Republic of Ireland call up. Well, on the basis that LT10 didn't play do we assume that Paul Connor will be getting a call up soon. From the X factor to international football - the Paul Connor story - you can see it in print as you read!

So what of the opposition? Well, Walsall were the form team when we won there back in August but now they suffer the embarrassment of being below the scousers of Tranmere in the table which is bad.

Currently known as the Saddlers, Walsall have applied to the football league to change their nickname to the librarians as most of their squad is either out on loan or loaned from someone else as the listing from their official site proves. Paul Merson it is believed has been issued with one of those stamps to allow him to put dates on his players when they leave the ground so that everyone knows what date they have to be back by.

Walsall did beat us to the signature earlier this season of James Constable but were disappointed to find that he didn't paint the Haywain. But then again we were led to believe once that Aiden Newhouse was gonna play for England.

Team news wise it's hard to call. We can almost smell Cardiff so the line up should get stronger but Kenny has played the LDV cards well so far this season. I suspect we'll see pretty much a first team look about tomorrows team as Walsall are now Rushing Diamonds. Unfortunately for us.

For them, they're due to make three loans out tomorrow and six loans are due to come back as well as two new loans. So it's hard to say what will be left at the end of the Swap Shop. They'll have eleven players and according to reports are down to the bare bones. And he's on loan from Southport.

Enjoy the game, two stands open and 5500 people. It's just like watching the Ospreys. But busier.
