Defender Alan Tate was signed on loan by Brian Flynn in 2002 and he also played a major part in helping the Swans stay in the league in the 2002/03 season. Tate then came back to South Wales a season later and eventually signed permanently.
Tate was then in and out on the team in Jackett's first season as manager, he looked on his way out but the ex-Man Utd trainee proved many people wrong and was voted as Player of the Year by Swans fans last season. He hardly put a foot wrong in his new position at right back.
'Beaker' can also fill in at the centre of midfield and the centre of defence, Tatey has also played in goal! He will be looking to put that crucial penalty miss in the Play Off Final behind him for the coming season as the Swans look to push on in League One.
He will serve a ban for the first match of the season against Cheltenham due to the 'Flag incident' after the Football League Trophy Final in April.
