Swans Look To End Poor Start

Swansea v Doncaster - Match Preview

From A Swansea Perspective

It sounds strange when you are just preparing for the fourth game of the season but I think already we are on a must win game. Confidence is low in the stands and some of this has to be transferring onto the pitch. We need the win that hopefully could kick start our season and we need it against Doncaster. They are in a similar position to us having not started the way they would have wanted to so this is a great chance for us to get going.

Team News

I think you could just about pick tomorrow's team yourself. The arrival of Dennis Lawrence fills a current hole in the defence and with Alan Tate still suspended and Andy Robinson to start probably on the bench there isn't much for Jackett to do other than line up back in a 4-4-2 as

Willy Amankwaah Izzy Lawrence Austin Butler Pratley Britton Macca Fallon LT10

I do expect to see LT10 get the nod ahead of Leon Knight tomorrow.

Former Jack Dave Penney returns to Swansea with another familiar face in Jason Price. They have their own problems in their line up with Graeme Lee, Gareth Roberts and Bruce Dyer all missing for a variety of reasons. James O'Connor is inline for his debut after recovering from injury

Form Guides

The Swans only home game was a defeat two weeks ago whilst Doncaster lost their only road trip on the same day. So we know at least something has to give tomorrow. Eight places and three points separate the two sides but a 2 goal Swans win will see them leapfrog their opponents.

What The Bookies Say

Home advantage sees Bet 365 install the Swans as 6/5 favourites for the game with an away victory again at the Liberty priced at 2/1. The draw is the outside result if they are to be believed at 11/5.

You won't be surprised to read that Lee Trundle starts at 4/1 favourite to grab the first goal of the afternoon with fellow strikers Knight (9/2) and Fallon (11/2) following that in the market. Heffernan is the leading Doncaster candidate at 13/2. Bearing in mind we are likely to start with Macca and Butler on the wings, Macca can be backed at 8/1 whilst Butler is 22/1. The latter just sounds too good to miss for a winger starting the game?

Where do you start when you are looking at a double on this one? Trundle will be seething at missing a penalty last week so seems a fair bet to grab one tomorrow - maybe double it with a 3-1 Swans win paying a whopping 55/1. Or if you fancy Butler as outlined above then double it with a 1/0 Swans win for a 100/1 payout.

What Do The Fans Think?

How many games do you think we have to go without a win before fans start predicting us to lose or do you think that is just not one of the done things? Almost 140 predictions to date and over 100 of them say Swansea to win. This optimism has got to pay off sooner rather than later don't you think?

JackArmy.net Predicts

I honestly don't know why I predict at the moment. I predicted a win last week but then I never saw Rory Fallon starting in midfield. I got the draw at Scunny right and claimed there couldn't be any other result other than a win against Cheltenham. 1 in 3 I supposed isn't that bad but it's hardly Mystic Meg territory. Doncaster won at the Liberty last season when we were playing well because we made some strange tactical changes. Sound familiar? You bet it does so by law of averages, cycles and anything else you want to mention it's three points for the Swans. 3-1 it is. See, there's the wild optimism I mentioned above
