The Best Is Yet To Come Insists Roberto

We'll Get Better Insists Martinez

Swans manager Roberto Martinez takes his side to Bournemouth tomorrow knowing that a win could see them end the day looking down at the other 23 teams in League One.

After a shaky start to the season - or so it seemed - the Swans can claim top spot with less than a quarter gone if results go their way over the weekend - and of course they gain that all important win.

But the rookie boss insists that his side are still trying to gel and that things will only get better as the season progresses. "Without a doubt we can play better," he told the Evening Post. "We've got a lot of new players and it takes time to gel, to get to know each other and to get partnerships going. "We are looking confident at the moment - the players are enjoying their football and showing a winning mentality which is pleasing. "I think the back-five, the back-seven even, have done a fantastic job in giving us a platform to express ourselves going forward. But there's no doubt about it, we haven't reached our full potential yet.

It will be the second time that Roberto has taken his side to Bournemouth since taking over in February - the last trip ended with a 2-2 draw at the back end of last season "The first-half performance that day was the worst we played last season," Martinez added. "We took a long time to get to grips with what was required and, while the second half was very pleasing, we cannot start like that again because it will make it very hard to get a result."
