Swansea's new striker Gorka Pintado insists that there is more to come after his sublime finish ended hopes for Forest

Pintado came off the bench to fire the third goal in a 3-1 victory - a deft touch that sent Mark Gower's cross past Paul Smith in the Nottingham Forest goal and secured the three points for the Swans.

And that meant that he was up and running on the goal trail after being heavily backed by Swans fans at attractive odds after an impressive pre-season.

The outing was his first in a competitive match for the Swans after a pre-season injury hampered his process but now he is ready to show the fans what he can do and insists that there is more to come.

Speaking after the match, Pintado said "It's not the best goal I've scored but a very important one.

"I'm happy because it was my first minutes on the pitch and first goal.

"I do hope to score more goals better than this."

His manager also revealed that he should not really have featured in the game as he worked his way back to full fitness and added “He was disappointed with the injury he picked up, and in any normal situation he would have missed this game, but he a had burning desire to be involved and in the last 20 minutes showed what he can bring as a player. He is someone who will lead the line with skill and a very hungry player that will give us a another dimension.

“It is very difficult to find that kind of player and it was very difficult to get him away from Spain because he was a special player and a special character at his club.

“But he gave up everything to come here and now he is desperate to win games for Swansea City and when you have those things it is a recipe for success – and I think his goal has already repaid the £70,000.”
