Call me arrogant, call me misguided, call me wrong, call me anything you want, but I will never stop supporting this football club  

Of course I am gutted about the ten point deduction before Saturday's game, of course i would prefer it not to have happened, but im more gutted about the fact we have sold less than 20,000 for Saturday however from the darkest moments come the road to recovery and now is the time for every Saints fan to show they are proud of their club and fill St Mary's against Burnley

Of course many will hurl abuse at me for daring to suggest that Saints supporters should be cajoled into attending a game and that its emotional blackmail to do so, but quite frankly I dont care, football has always been about fan pecking order, if you are a season ticket holder and go to all the away games then of course you are a better supporter at that time than a season ticket holder who only goes to the home games, no one could deny that, but of course that season ticket holder is supporting the club more than the guy who only goes to the odd game and so on.

So call me all the names that you will, but I dont care, because when the good times return, and they will return I will have the smug satisfaction that when MY club needed my support I gave it and sat alongside me will be another 15,000 in St Mary's who will stare at the other 15,000 with the same self satisfied grin.

Will the returning 15,000 give a toss, I very much doubt it because they will have memorised the words in the book "3'000 excuses to desert your team in its hour of need" (excerts of which have been published regularly on internet websites over the past two years)  and they will have convinced themselves that they returned to support Saints the moment that it was confirmed that Rupert Lowe hadnt been seen at the ground for 3 years.

What a bitter man I am ! How ridiculed i will be ! Who cares sue me. Tell you what why not show me up as full of it, by filling up St Mary's on Saturday and showing me that you realise the desperate plight the Club is in.

NB NICK ILLINGSWORTH REALISES THAT NOT EVERY SAINTS SUPPORTER CAN ALWAYS MAKE THE GAME, PLENTY HAVE REASONABLE EXCUSES INCLUDING BEING STRAPPED FOR CASH, LIVING AWAY FROM THE AREA AND HAVING PRIOR ENGAGEMENTS, THESE SUPPORTERS SHOULD IN NO WAY TAKE OFFENCE TO MY RAMBLINGS, FUELLED BY SPENDING SEVERAL HOURS IN A MEETING WITH HIGH PROFILE SUPPORTERS OF THE FOOTBALL CLUB BEING TOLD THAT AT THIS POINT IN TIME WE WILL NOT SURVIVE PAST THE FIRST WEEK IN MAY.
