No Old Pals Act From Nathan

There will be no old pals act from Nathan Dyer today as he prepares to go back to Bramall Lane

At the end of a week where Swansea City moves a step closer to the permanent signing of Dyer from troubled club Southampton, he goes back to the place where he spent three months earlier this season.

However, there are no split loyalties today for the winger who will aim to end their hopes of automatic promotion whilst keeping alive the Swans faint hopes of a play off place.

Dyer told the Western Mail “I don’t feel I have anything to prove to them

“I wasn’t really playing at Southampton so I’m just thankful to Kevin Blackwell for taking me on loan and give me a bit of a fresh start. They are a bit more direct than Swansea, but it was more than that.

“When I first went there they won something like eight games on the bounce.

“So I couldn’t have any complaints because it’s hard to take people out of the side when you are winning.

“They were on a really good run and it just didn’t happen for me.

“But I picked up a lot by being around players that had been in the Premiership.

“They didn’t see the best of me by a long way though. I only played three games so they didn’t get to see me stamping my authority.

“I’m looking forward to going back there – but I’m at a club now that I’m falling in love with and it’s going well.

“We were hoping results would go for us at Burnley but it didn’t happen, it’s not in our hands anymore. We just have to do what we can and, if they slip up, then great.

“We are a good enough team to beat anyone on our day. Hopefully we will show that at Bramall Lane.”
