Gylfi Sigurdsson has called on his Swans team mates to become more ruthless in front of goal as they look to return to winning ways

Gylfi Sigurdsson has called on his Swans team mates to become more ruthless in front of goal as they look to return to winning ways

The Swans have lost three successive Premier League games for the first time, scoring just one goal in the process and that is something that Sigurdsson wants them to stop as they look to battle back against QPR on Wednesday.

“We have to learn to be more ruthless in front of goal, when we get a chance or half chance then we have to take it,” said Sigurdsson.

“If we want to get those points that we need then we have to be more ruthless.

“We had a lot of the ball, but that’s why teams like Newcastle are up at the top of the league, because they are ruthless when they get chances.

“They defended very well and took their chances when they came.

“We won three in a row and then lost three in a row, but Spurs and Newcastle are right up there competing for the Champions League places,” added Sigurdsson.

“We need to pick ourselves up and get ready against QPR.

“QPR have a great squad and we know they are very hard to play against in London so it’s going to be a tough game.

“They showed against Liverpool and Arsenal they are a good side so we need to get ourselves together.

“We are very determined to turn around the problems of the last three games and finish the season on a high.

“We know how to break teams down it just didn’t happen on Friday.

“With a little bit of luck we could have got an equaliser and then the game could be different.

“We need to be a bit more creative in the final third. It’s hard when they have nine or 10 men behind the ball, but that’s when it’s up to us to be creative and see those little passes."

Sigurdsson also dfropped a hint that he would be prepared to stay at the club in the summer

“I haven’t spoken to him (Hoffenheim boss Babbel) at all, I’m very happy here,” said Sigurdsson.

“Hoffenheim know how I feel and the reasons why I left in January. It will get sorted in the summer.

“I don’t know if I will go back, we’ll have to see what happens in the summer because it is not entirely up to me.

“I am very happy here and I love playing for this club, but it’s not entirely up to me, I have two more years on my contract in Germany.

“We will have to wait and see what happens.”
