Old transfer target links resurface
Old transfer target links resurface

Leeds are again being linked with Tommy Rowe and Reece Wabara.

About a month ago, Leeds were linked with Peterborough's Rowe who apparently has set his heart on a return to the north, the 24-year-old hails from Stockport and is entering the final year of his Posh deal. Despite an unashamed effort by their Director of Football/Rentagob Barry Fry to talk up his value and start an auction, Rowe has remained at London Road since but with McDermott talking about bring close to landing a long-term target could Rowe be his man.

Similarly 20-year-old Wabara is in the final year of his Manchester City contract and expressed a desire to move to Leeds earlier this summer via that most trusted and reliable source of rumour called twitter. The left-back was at Oldham on loan last season and also played for Blackpool. Like many talented Manchester City youngsters, their obsession with spending millions has probably thwarted any chance of him making their first X1.

With old heads Stephen Warnock and Adam Drury already at the club, is seems hard to envisage why McDermott needs another left-back unless of course he is planning to move one of them on, both were of course signed by his predecessor Neil Warnock.

With the whites' arriving in Slovenia yesterday lunchtime ahead of a three-game tour, it seems unlikely much will happen for a few days at least.
