Matt Le Tissier Column - Wayne's Got His Mojo Back To Fire Engl;and To Brazil

Wayne Rooney is getting his appetite for the game back and that is good news for England supporters

Wayne Rooney is back in form and can fire England to next year’s World Cup Finals.

It appears that Rooney has got his Mojo back in a Manchester United shirt which is great news for our qualifying hopes.

I am confident we can win our last group game against Poland after the win over Montenegro and book our place in Brazil.

Having Rooney playing near his best is going to give the entire squad a lift just when we need it most.

He’s getting himself on the scoresheet nearly every week and appears to have got his hunger and appetite back for the game.

Even in the 4-1 drubbing by City he was perhaps the only United player to come out of the game with any credit.

And that’s good news for England and manager Roy Hodgson with the World Cup Finals fast approaching next summer.

Hopefully, he will keep it going in the Premier League and we can see the best of Wayne Rooney when we reach Brazil.

I know everyone is pointing to the fact that we’ve drawn a lot of our qualifying matches but when it comes down to the crunch games the England players normally produce.

That’s why I can’t see us not winning the final remaining Wembley match against the Poles because we normally pull it out of the bag.

There has been a lot of criticism aimed at Joe Hart in recent weeks but he’s still our number 1 goalkeeper.

How can Hodgson not pick him? What alternatives has he got if he doesn’t play Hart.

We’ve got John Ruddy from Norwich and Celtic’s Fraser Forster who have one cap between them.

Hart, who has played 26 times for his country, has not let England down and there is no-one with the experience to take his place.

We just don’t have the strength in depth between the posts we used to have down the years.

I can remember the times we had Peter Shilton, Ray Clemence and Joe Corrigan all available for England.

Joe was one hell of a goalkeeper. He made 476 appearances for Manchester City but hardly got a look-in with Shilts and Clem about winning just nine caps in six years.
