Leeds look to Lithuanian having landed Blackstock
Leeds look to Lithuanian having landed Blackstock

Dexter Blackstock arrived as expected at Elland Road on Thursday afternoon. The Forest striker signed on a three-month loan deal but Brian McDermott is also looking to bolster his back line.

Just 34 goals in 122 start at the City Ground perhaps is not a prolific return, but McDermott's long and frustrating search for a striker has finally bore fruit. The 27-year-old will stay with us at least until January 25th next year. He is expected to go into the squad to face Huddersfield on Saturday although my suspicion is he will start his Leeds career on the bench.

Blackstock may have another newcomer beside him in Marius Zaliukas, the 29-year-old ex Hearts stopper is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with McDermott to stay on until the end of the campaign. Zaliukas played in a 3-3 draw for our development squad with Sheffield Wednesday midweek.

Meanwhile young defender Ross Killock has joined non-league Chester on-loan. Killock becomes our third player to move west a twins Lewis and Nathan Turner are already there.
