Dale reserves got their season off to a cracking start with a 3-0 win over Championship side Preston North End at Rossendale on Wednesday evening.

The Dale goals came from Rory Prendergast, Kristian Bowden and Kallum Higginbotham against what was considered to be a very strong PNE side with plenty of Championship experience in their line up.

Prendergast's goal was said to be the pick of the three, as he fired home from 25 yards out.

Amongst the PNE side were Ghanain international Patrick Agyemang and former League Two leading scorer Kawl Hawley.
