 Tuesday, 24th Jun 2008 21:39 Former QPR striker, Paul Furlong has signed a one year contract with League One side, Southend. Furlong, who after winning over the Loftus Road faithful after a shaky start to his Loftus Road career, made 171 appearances in total for the R's, scoring 57 goals. After being released by QPR, he spent last season with Luton Town and scored 12 goals in 38 appearances for the Hatters, who were relegated to League Two. The now 39 year old striker has signed a one year deal at Roots Hall and will bring some valuable experience to Steve Tilson's side. Meanwhile, former R's midfielder and Manager, Gary Waddock, has signed a new 3 year contract with newly promoted, League Two side, Aldershot Town. After just a year in charge, Waddock guided the Shots to promotion from the Blue Square Premier League by a mile, along with winning the Setanta Shield.
