QPR's games with Southampton and Birmingham moved by Sky

QPR's home game against Southampton in September and away fixture with Birmingham in October have been moved for live television coverage.

The Southampton fixture was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday September 13 but will now kick off a day later at 4pm to enable Sky Sports to screen the game live.

Last season the sides swapped away wins with the Saints winning 3-0 at Loftus Road on a difficult day all round for QPR. The R's avenged that with a 3-2 win at St Marys in March. Southampton narrowly avoided relegation at the end of last season but with cash very tight, manager Nigel Pearson sacked and replaced with a bizarre foreign coaching set up and parts of St Mary's closed next season to cut down on costs many are tipping them not to be as lucky this time around.

From a personal point of view this news comes just two and a half minutes after I bought my train tickets for the original date and is as inconsiderate as it is inconvenient. If anybody needs return tickets from Sheffield to London on Saturday September 13 do let me know.

The game at Birmingham City will still take place on Saturday October 4, however it now has a 12.45pm kick off. Birmingham were one of three sides relegated from the Premiership last season but are hotly tipped to make an immediate return to the big time. They did the double over Rangers two seasons ago on their way to promotion - 2-0 at Loftus Road and 2-1 at St Andrews.

In a third change to the advertised fixture list today our away trip to Norwich originally scheduled for Tuesday September 16 will now take place a day later at 7.45pm.
