Monk Happy With Selection Dilemmas

There can't be too many greater feelings as a football manager than trying to work out which of your talented individuals you need to pick for the next match and which one your are going to disappoint.

And that is a feeling that Garry Monk is working with at the moment as he works out how to get the best out of the strongest Swansea squad ever assembled. Monk has choices to make in just about every position on the pitch at the moment but it is a marvellous problem to have.

And you cannot fault his selection for the opening two games and he has already made brave decisions such as the leaving Jack Cork out at Chelsea which allowed him to field a more attacking line up that could have worked perfectly.

Monk knows though that the role of a manager is to make those decisions and insists that his players have bought into his vision for the club which was partly to have competition for every place.

"You want everyone to perform and no-one to dip and that was the case against Newcastle, even with the guys who came on," Monk added.

"The side I pick depends what I feel is best for each game and the players understand that. I am not here for the individual, I am here for the team and they buy into it.

"There are going to be disappointments, but the most important thing is the team and that is massive if we want to create something here.

"Everyone is delivering

"You could see with Bafe's goal, which came at the end of 21 passes, that we are delivering as a team. Everyone is contributing."
