Sunderland Starlet Unlikely To Start?

Duncan Watmore made a dream start as far as his league career was concerned for Sunderland on Saturday when he came off the bench to score their consolation goal in the home defeat to Norwich.

It was probably the highlight of what has been a pretty traumatic first week of the season for Sunderland who have lost both their games and currently sit bottom of the Premier League with a goal difference of minus four.

There were many Sunderland fans who did not see the goal on Saturday as there was a reasonable mass exodus from the stadium when the third of Norwich's goals went in which was before the hour mark.

They appear to be a club in disarray at the moment and we need to take advantage of that on Saturday and secure another three points for our league tally.

One of the questions though is whether the current Barclays Under-21 player of the season will be starting on Saturday after his goalscoring appearance from the bench on Saturday.

Manager Dick Advocaat wasn't saying for certain but it seems unlikely: “Of course, it will be possible that he will not play.

“Everything is possible.

“He did in 10 minutes more attacking-wise than some others.

“But again, if you start as a regular, it’s a different way of playing. But he did well.”

Watmore himself said “I’m very grateful for the opportunity the manager gave me, so I’ll work hard in training and see how many chances I can get.”
