Koeman Reiterates He Is Going Nowhere
Thursday, 15th Oct 2015 17:17

Ronald Koeman has spelt it out for the media, he is staying at Southampton Football Club for the duration of his contract.

Speaking at this afternoon's press conference Ronald Koeman responded to rumours that he will be poached by the Dutch FA should they decide to dispense with Danny Blind and once again was adamant that he would be seeing out his contract at St Mary's whatever.

I'm manager of Southampton," Koeman said. "I like to be the manager of Southampton, I like to stay, and I have after this season one year more, (so) there's no way, no possibility (I could leave).

"Maybe (I could be the Holland manager) in the future, but depending on a lot of things. The Dutch have to take the disappointment, and we have to learn and we have to give a reaction.

"And we have to change something - organisations, federations - we speak a lot about that. We don't have a football name on the board of the (KNVB) federation, it's crazy.

"But I'm happy in Southampton and we're doing well, and that's the most important thing. I can tell everybody - I told it already.

"I'm happy at Southampton, I'm the coach of Southampton and next season I will be the coach at Southampton, and then in my last year of contract we will see what happens."

I am becoming addicted to his interviews and press conferences. they are always honest, always frank and always amusing. What a change form the usual tight-lipped, tight-arsed excuses for managers that we see all too often in the PL Pressies.

I hope he stays here for another 10 years. In Ron we trust. Are you reading this Leslie Reed?

Likewise Brock. Makes you realise what a farce Pochettino was. The whole interpreter bullsh1t just made every interview and press conference a joke. And then when we expect him to finally start speaking English so we can warm to him he's on a taxi to Spurs. I love Ronald.

Completely agree about his press conferences. Don't think he's ever stayed anywhere more than 3 or 4 years so we shall see....next year...(with a trophy in the bag hopefully).

Apparently he is highly ambitious and various experts in the media predict he will end up at a much bigger club job in England or Spain long before he takes the Dutch job. Like all Saints fans I hope he stays for another three or four years but I do fear he is going to see out the contract and leave.

Koeman has built his own team and we all agree what a team. I couldn't be more happy. I do too fear he will leave next year amd is this going to cause another exodus if he does leave.

Sadly RK will leave Southampton in the summer of 2017, when he becomes the new Manager at Barcelona. Enrique will leave Barca in the Summer of 2017.

I think he'll be true to his word as long as the club's ideas on progress match his own and they support him. He's stated he's happy here and if he can get our top players to buy into that philosophy, with help from the club on wages, we might be able to close some of the exit doors. We might then (2017) be 'in a different place' status wise, and his departure might not be inevitable'

The win at Chelsea was on another level compared to what we saw under Poch. It wasn't just 70 mins of high pressing followed by 20 mins hanging on. Koeman's tactics outsmarted Mourinho throughout - how often has that happened at Stamford Bridge. When did we last have a bench as strong as this? I hope we can do it against Leicester!!
