Leeds United: Whites confirm capture of Swedish starlet
Thursday, 31st Aug 2017 10:28 by @LucasMonk_

Leeds United have today confirmed the signing of Malmö FF's 23-year-old forward Paweł Cibicki for an undisclosed sum.

Cibicki, born to Polish parents, made 57 domestic appearances for Malmö over the course of three years, scoring 11 goals.

He also enjoyed a fruitful loan spell during the 2016 Allsvenskan season with Jönköpings Södra IF, scoring 10 times in 26 matches as the minnows narrowly retained their top-flight status.

A versatile attacker who can also be deployed on the flanks, the player had been linked with both Manchester United and AFC Ajax as recently as May 2017.

In June, Cibicki played in three matches for Sweden at the recent UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

The player has agreed to a four-year contract at Elland Road, and will sport the number 22.

Hamburger SV forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga, 25, is anticipated to sign for Leeds later in the day.

United have until 11pm before the closure of the transfer window to confirm further signings or departures.
