When Dale suffered a horrendous injury crisis at the start of the 2007-8 season, Dale boss Keith Hill was quick to act and drafted in Kelvin Lomax on loan from neighbours Oldham Athletic.

Lomax comes to Spotland primarily as a right back, but one who's not afraid to push forward with the occasional long range effort. He made his Dale debut away at Barnet in a goalless draw.

He comes with high recommendations from his bosses at Oldham who have tipped him for a very bright future in the game. He's already made a number of first team outings for the Latics.

Following the expiry of his month's loan at Spotland, the deal was extended following a string of decent performances from the right back.
