Leeds United: Midfield outcast returns to the Netherlands Monday, 22nd Jan 2018 13:29 by @LucasMonk_ Midfielder Mateusz Klich departs Elland Road. Leeds United have today confirmed the temporary departure of 27-year-old Polish international Mateusz Klich, who moves to FC Utrecht of the Dutch Eredivisie on loan until the end of the season. Klich has only featured sporadically for Leeds since joining the club from FC Twente for a reputed fee of £1,500,000 and he leaves for Utrecht, who are presently 6th in the Eredivisie, having been afforded a solitary league start by head coach Thomas Christiansen. The midfielder was the architect of much division among United supporters in November after 'liking' Twitter posts that criticised Christiansen and lamented his own paucity of playing time. Klich's departure has generated little surprise on the part of Leeds fans following United's capture of Adam Forshaw from divisional rivals Middlesbrough. The arrival of Forshaw, an experienced midfielder and erstwhile promotion winner with Boro, obviated the need for Klich's presence even further and it appears most improbable that the Poland international has a future ahead of him at Elland Road.
