Slaviša Jokanović, the Fulham manager, has been nominated for the Championship manager of the month award after leading his team into the play-off places.

Steve Bruce (Aston Villa), Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City) and Daniel Farke (Norwich City) are the other nominees.

Jokanović's nomination arises after the 49-year-old Serbian guided the Cottagers, who currently occupy fifth place in the Championship, to four successive league victories in January - an impressively imperious run of form that has seen them overtake Leeds United in the race to secure a play-off berth come May.

After a slipshod start to the season that saw the former Chelsea midfielder's fitness for the role impugned, Fulham have gone eight league games unbeaten since they slumped to an ignominious 1-0 defeat away to struggling Sunderland in December and appear, at the time of writing, to be unvanquishable. Jokanović, though, still faces stiff competition from Villa's Bruce for the award after the latter led the one-time European Cup winners to four wins in four matches.

Fulham supporters will no doubt be jubilant to learn that their manager's meritorious efforts have received recognition, whilst followers of Leeds United will be concerned about the rich vein of form their fellow play-off aspirants are in at this moment.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday.
