With Joe Rafferty heading off to PNE, we've signed Ryan McLaughlin from Blackpool.

So what do we know about McLaughlin then?

Well it seems that he was all set to sign for St Mirren earlier in the week, until a cash bid came in from Dale that has secured his services at Spotland on an eighteen month deal, and he is expected to go straight into Dale's starting eleven at his former side Barnsley at the weekend.

Coincidentally, like Joe Rafferty, he started his career at Anfield but was unable to make the breakthrough into the first team. His first team football came via a couple of loan spells at Aberdeen and Barnsley.

He joined Oldham in the Summer of 2017 and was part of their side that was relegated last Summer. He was offered an extended deal by the Latics but he turned it down in favour of a move to Blackpool.

He's made appearances for Northern Ireland at all age levels culminating in five full international caps and a number of appearances on the bench.
