Thread of the Week - Jewell comments on Earnshaw
Thread of the Week - Jewell comments on Earnshaw
Wednesday, 23rd Jan 2008 19:00

There were quite a few threads that might have qualified for TotW, but this one just shades it because of the strong opinions expressed therein.

Lang_Ram started this one going by drawing attention to the comments of Paul Jewell concerning Robert Earnshaw. The indications are that Earnshaw is lazy and perhaps has an 'attitude problem'. It certainly might explain why successive managers - including the one who bought him - have failed repeatedly to name him in the starting eleven and appeared reluctant to even bring him on as a substitute.

RamZoners have been asking repeatedly for five months now what is the problem with Earnshaw and why have we paid over £3m for a player who is sitting on the bench. Maybe now we have some semblance of an answer.

The other main candidate for Thread of the Week was the one titled 'Jewells got it all wrong?' (sic) started by sixmileram. That was another thread that provoked some good discussion and the impression really was not that Paul Jewell was being criticised.

The comments about Robbie Savage rumble on. The player asked fans to judge him after two games. Clearly after two games he is not match fit but if fans were to take him at his word they may not yet be convinced or won over about him.

Anyway we have finally won a match - well won a game on a penalty shoot out anyway and so we have at least stopped the endless run of failures to win. We go into the fourth round tie against a Preston side who must be almost as demoralised as the Rams.

Whether or not we go down in the record books as the worst Premiership team ever with less than 15 points is now all that remains of our Premiership campaign. With still only seven points on the board it is looking unlikely that we will gain another eight in the remaining three months - but you never know!

Whatever you want to discuss about the Rams, do it on the RamZone Message Board and if you are merely a reader at the moment, do feel free to join in.

Thanks to Lang_Ram for initiating the Thread of the Week and also to all our other contributors on this and all other threads.
