Lambert: I Want Two Strikers

Paul Lambert has revealed that he is looking to sign two new strikers to bolster the U's frontline, and that so far this summer, the club has failed on seven attempts.

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Lambert said: "I need two strikers. We've already been in for seven, and we haven't got any of them!

"It's not easy. It might be that we try and get one younger striker, who is hungry to do well, and an older more experienced one. But I'm not just going to bring in a couple just for the sake of it.

"So far, we have had four players come in and three go out. But the squad is still too big, because we can't do what we did in the Championship, because we don't have the same resources.

"It's difficult, because the lads are under contract, but I need to cut the squad."
