Jackson Joins County On Free Transfer Monday, 17th Aug 2009 18:17 Johnnie Jackson has this afternoon completed his transfer to Notts County after the U's agreed to release him from his contract. The 27-year-old midfielder requested to leave the U's during pre-season when he was told that he was not guaranteed to play in his favoured central-midfield position, and has not figured for United since.
He has signed for the multi-million backed Meadow Lane club on a three-year deal.
JJ joined the U's on a permanent basis from Spurs in the summer of 2006, having previously spent two months on loan in 2003. He made a total of 123 appearances (107 starts), scoring 13 goals, and was the club's Player of the Year during the 2007/8 relegation season.
On behalf of all U's fans we wish JJ a successful future, accept of course if he plays against us. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
