Leeds eaeed past Burnley putting their Wembley disappointment behind them and hopefully have done enough now to assure Premier League football next season.

As expected Karl Darlow came in for Lucas Perri, James Justin moved to left back to replace injured Gaby Gudmonsen and his place in central defence was taken by Joe Roden. Daniel Farke welcomed back Anton Stach in favour of Brendan Aaronsen. Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol shaking off knocks to start.

And Stach's inclusion was vindicated after just eight minutes when he smashed home a low, left-footed piledriver past Dubravka for the opener at the Kop end, the visitors winning the toss and electing to defend the end Leeds traditionally attack in the second half.

Leeds were also facing the potential curse of the caretaker manager, with Scott Parker leaving just hours before kick-off leaving former Tranmere boss Mike Jackson in charge until the end of the seaaon like he did in 2022 after Sean Dyche was sacked. Burnley were out of the blocks in the second half rapidly but were architects of their own downfall on 52 when Calvert-Lewin was gifted the ball, charged down the right, backheeled out to Bogle who's perfect cross was slammed home by Okafor - the Swiss winger's sixth goal in 10 matches.

Thls forced Mike Jackson into bringing on Hannibal Mejbri who as expected ran the gauntlet of hate due to his past connections with a club from Manchester and the spitting incident in October. Whether it was a brave or desperate move who knows? But it didn't have the desired outcome as Leeds were 3-0 up on 56 Calvert-Lewin pouncing first after Tanaka's long-range drive was blocked for his 13th of the season.

Burnley thought they'd reduced the deficit when Lucas-Pires tapped homs a cross but thr offside flag denied the Brazilian left-back his first Burnley goal.

Loum Tchaouna did claim his first Burnley goal against us back in October and repeated the feat on 71 with a decent finish through a crowd of Leeds players. But it was nothing more than a consolation as Leeds managed out the final 19 minutes plus eight added on to go nine points clear of the bottom three.

Daniel James on as sub should have got a fourth in the dying moments one on one on Dubravska but shot weakly.
