SC Freiburg are reportedly closing in on Willy Gnonto and we are apparently keen to listen to offers for him.

Italy international Gnonto, 22, arrived on summer transfer deadline day in 2022 for a bargain £3m from Zurich. Following our relegation a year later, Gnonto wanted out of Elland Road demanding a transfer with Everton keen on him, but Leeds held firm demanding around £30m for him so Gnonto had to eat humble-pie.

Arguably 24/25 was his best season with nine goals and the young player of the yeae award playing in 43 of our Championship winning side, but this season he's made just 21 league starts so far.

Freiburg are apparently thinking over an outright buy-out or a loan-to-buy deal. With just 12 months left on his Leeds deal it seems unlikely we will get anything remotely close to the price-tag we put on him when Everton were interested three-years ago.
