![]() Friday, 26th Jun 2026 12:14 The latest keeper to be linked with Leeds is Derby's Jacob Widdel Zetterstrom. The 6'6" Swede made his World Cup debut last night in Sweden's 1-1 draw with Japan, a game which also featured Gabriel Gudmondssen and Ao Tanaka. Sweden have progressed to the last 32 despite finishing 3rd in their group, so Zetterstrom will be away for a little longer before his club future is decided. I understand he is entering the final year of his Pride Park deal, the Rams signed him in 2024, the Rams signed him from Djurgårdens in 2024 for an undisclored fee. His form has apparently caught the eye of other clubs like Eintract Frankfurt and Wolves, the 27 year old now has four Sweden caps to his name and despite talk of a contract extension nothing has materialised yet from Derby's end. Regular fans will remember Zetterstrom playing well against us in last seasons FA cup 3rd round, although we beat Derby 3-1. If there is any truth in these rumours, he'd obviously cost significantly less than some of tge names mentioned like Aaron Ramsdale, James Trafford and Nick Pope. Our goalkeeping position needs addressing as potentually we have just one recognised senior keeper on our books going into July in Lucas Perri although he's been linked with a move away after a frustrating first seaaon at Leeds where he established himself as our "cup keeper" but lost the "first choice" mantle to Karl Darlow. Third-choice keeper Alex Cairns has apparently indicated he's willing to stay with his deal about to expire. Darlow's deal runs out on Tuesday. So it all depends what he decides to do. Id be more than happy for him to sign a new contract and battle it out with Perri for another season and us strengthen in other areas. Darlow however is being linked with an unthinkable move to Man U! Photo: Action Images via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
