Gus to face misconduct charge Wednesday, 19th Sep 2007 21:42 Gus Poyet has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association, for his comments about Andy D'Urso after the game at Portsmouth. Poyet suggested D'Urso held a vendetta against him and Dennis Wise going back to their playing days, when both of them had been sent off by D'Urso . Poyet has been charged with a brech of rule E3 and has until October 4 to appeal.
Our noble assistant said at the time: "Andy D'Urso is not good enough for us and I don't want to see him at a Leeds match again. He can't forget things he's done to us in the past. It's sad and has happened again since we've been in management. He keeps laughing during games and doesn't make any decisions. If there is something complicated in the box he never gives it. We had a bet with the fourth official who would get the first yellow card and of course it was us. It is too much. It is personal. He has sent me off before and that's not hard but when it is against the team it is not right." Other crimes to be taken into consideration are that D’Urso sent Alan Smith off in that infamous FA Cup defeat at Cardiff in 2002, and also dismissed Dom Matteo later that season at Goodison. So maybe Gus has a point. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
