Ipswich fury as no punishment for pitch invaders Monday, 15th Oct 2007 03:31 Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks has branded the FA "weak" for failing to take any action over the pitch invasion which marred Leeds 1-1 draw with Ipswich at the end of last season. Sheepshanks is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: "I feel it is a weak response. I'm surprised the FA believe that everything reasonable was done to avoid what was known to be a volatile situation.' A hardcore bunch of idiots poured onto the pitch during the game last April, in which Alan Lee's late equaliser for Ipswich virtually condemned Leeds relegation from the Championship. It took half-an-hour to restore order so that the final seconds of the match could be played. Most Leeds fans will breath a sigh of relief that no further punishment will be forthcoming, following the 25 point deduction (last season and this) for going into administration. However, it is hoped that the club have done all in their power to identify and ban these idiots for life.
