New deals and Derry back at Palace
New deals and Derry back at Palace
Tuesday, 20th Nov 2007 00:44

Monday was a busy day for midfielders.

Leeds handed new deals to two midfielders, but is looks like Shaun Derry has left Elland Road for good.

David Prutton has signed a two year extension to his current deal. Apparently an option was triggered off after 15 games and Prutton reached that figure in the win over Swindon. The former Forest and Southampton man has earned mixed-reviews from supporters, with many fans claiming he gives the ball away too-easily. However in Dennis we trust and our faith is pledged in our manager.

Radostin Kishishev, now fit after picking up an injury just days after arriving from Leicester, will continue his Leeds love-in until January 23rd at least. In another boost, Kish has been given permission to play in the FA Cup but can't play against Hereford tonight in the first round replay due to some daft rule that he wasn't eligible for the first tie!

But the mixed-feelings over Prutton's new deal, the joy of Kish is obviously going to be tempered with news that Shaun Derry has returned to Crystal Palace on-loan until the New-Year.

It has been nearly a year since Derry last played for Leeds. Ironically when Leeds played Palace earlier this year, Derry was accused of being the infamous "mole" who leaked the teamsheet to the Londoners. However both player and club have brushed these suggestions aside.

Derry ironically joined Leeds from Palace nearly three-years ago and is heading back to Selhurst Park, where he will link up with his old mentor Neil Warnock - who he played for at Sheffield United all those years ago.
