Leeds give Dalglish a trial Thursday, 14th Feb 2008 13:34 We could have a famous name joining us soon, as striker Paul Dalglish has arrived in Leeds for a trial. The former Scotland Under 21 international began his career at Celtic and then played for Liverpool, before joining Newcastle during his father’s spell as boss at St. James’ Park. But his nomadic career continued, and he went on to have spells at Norwich, Blackpool, Linfield, Hibs, Modena and Livingston. And he also found the time to fit in loan spells with Bury, Wigan and Scunthorpe. The 30-year-old spent last season in MLS with Houston Dynamo, and since arriving in Leeds he played the full 90 minutes in the reserves 3-0 win over Rotherham last night.
It’s likely that Leeds will only offer Dalglish a short-term deal till the end of the season, We already have Beckford, Kandol, Flo and Elding, plus Constantine when he recovers from his latest injury, but with some of these players running out of form, the manager might think he needs more striking options in the squad.
