Arbitration set for April 14th.

Here’s a date for your diary, our eagerly-anticipated arbitration hearing will take place on April 14th, according to the Yorkshire Post.

Last Friday Leeds accepted the Football League's offer of an independent panel to hear the case, even though we really wanted the hearing to be held in public.

Even the date has been kept secret so far, with no official announcement by either party, but someone has told the Yorkshire Post that it’s been penciled in for April 14th. The Football League have refused to confirm the YP’s report, but they haven’t denied it either.

With the League One season due to end on May 3, Leeds had called for as early a date as possible, but we will have only three games remaining after the 14th. Although we currently sit in eighth place, we would jump to second if all 15 points were restored, so with the hearing taking place at such a late stage of the season, it’s outcome will have a crucial bearing on our promotion hopes.

The three-man panel who will hear the case will consist of a neutral Court of Appeal judge plus one representative apiece nominated by Leeds and the League.
