The Samba factor comes to Leeds

Simon Grayson is still striving to improve the squad as Leeds prepare to start the new season back in the Championship, and the latest news is that no fewer than seven Brazilian youngsters are on their way to Thorp Arch for trials.

As Ken Bates explained to Yorkshire Radio, "They've all played with top clubs in Europe at different levels. It's come through an arrangement with a chap who specialises in Mid and South America. He has a proven record, he has seven players in the Premier League and he wants to work with us. Nothing may come of it, but you have to cast your net far and wide."

Leeds have already had some success in recruiting Latin Americans in recent years, having signed Luciano Becchio two years ago after he also came to Elland Road for a trial during the pre-season games. Lets hope that this latest batch proves to be as willing as Becchio to work for the cause, and that the Copacabana boys can add some flair to the Leeds United side next season.
