New manager Paul Simpson has made his first signing for the club, after bringing in former Rotherham United right back Mark Lynch. The 28-year-old trades places with Johnny Mullins who recently joined the Millers on a free transfer.

Manager Paul Simpson stated at the press conference on Monday that he would be looking to add experience to our currently depleted squad although after making just 127 appearances since turning professional in 2001, I'm not sure if he can be classed as experienced. Mark boasts past employers Manchester United, St. Johnstone, Sunderland, Hull City, Yeovil Town and Rotherham United on his CV with his single appearance for Manchester United coming in a Champions League match.

Last season he was plying his trade in League Two for Rotherham United where he made 38 appearances. With the Millers recent acquisition of Johnny Mullins from County, Lynch became surplus to requirements at the Don Valley Stadium and he has released by manager Ronnie Moore at the end of last season along with eight other players.

Lynch's last game for the Millers came in May's League Two play-off final at Wembley, where they lost 3-2 to Dagenham & Redbridge.
