QPR v Norwich Betting Preview
QPR v Norwich Betting Preview
Friday, 15th Oct 2010 23:37 by LFW Pundits

Back up to a full complement of pundits and refreshed after the break, LFW is ready to guide you through the value of the weekend sporting markets.

Andy underestimated just what a sad bastard I am sometimes and didn’t file copy last week because he thought me being in Spain would see me enjoying som hard earned rest rather than subbing betting copy. How wrong he was. Anyway it keeps his £38.50 profit intact for another week. Brian couldn’t have been more unlucky in backing Helguson to score first rather than last and QPR to win 2-0 rather than 2-1. A whisker away from a big win, sadly now he’s back in the red to the tune of £15.

As the editor and chief honcho pointed out in his review it’s now three games in a week for the Hoops and it will be a big test for the lads. Norwich have started life back in the second tier well and despite Northernr pointing out their away wins were against lesser teams you can only beat what is in front of you and I can see a draw being the result as I think this is our toughest game of the season so far.

The second game at Swansea in midweek will see us facing Scott Sinclair who has hit the ground running in Wales. Despite this I think we will win and these two results are the base of our first bet this week.

The greyhound St Leger is the second bet of the week and despite getting beaten in the first round heat last Saturday Bodell Clare is still available at 10/1 to win the competition. The Cesarewitch at Newmarket is the big race on the final champions day to be staged at the Suffolk track and Red Cadeux can pick up the spoils.

It could be more red in the Merseyside derby takes place on Sunday and this fixture has produced more dismissals over the years than most and with both teams struggling I can see someone seeing red and the 9/4 at Stan James is hard to resist. I will complete this week’s mish mash with the footie acca which is due to pay out at some point.

Andy Hillman

Well it’s been so long since I’ve done one of these due to international breaks and a mix up on my part about Clive’s determination to get these things out despite going on holiday that I’ve almost forgotten how to do them.

I’ll start with an anecdote if I may – I was finally a victim of online fraud last week – my Betfair account got hacked. And the cyber criminals, instead of draining my bank account, deposited £300 into my bank account. No, I didn’t make that up. They had to pay some money off on my card before they could add their own, and arbitrarily added £300 onto my card, before adding their own card and then depositing money from their card into my Betfair account. How they planned to make money off me I do not know, but Betfair told me I can keep the money, so it’s good times all round! Who says that crime doesn’t pay?! (Editor’s note – this will not be counting towards Andy’s running total.)

So with a spring in my step from that cheeky little windfall, onto this week’s fixture, QPR vs Norwich. And there has been an awful lot of doom and gloom from the fans surrounding this match, with a lot of you expecting us to lose this match. If you really think that, stop what you’re doing and immediately login to the Victor Chandler website, as they currently have Norwich at 5/1 to win. That’s pretty massive odds, I’m sure you’ll agree. I’m slightly more optimistic, I think we have a good chance of winning, but there is not an awful lot of value in the outright victory (6/4 on across the market). QPR to win to nil is 7/4 with bet365, but again that seems risky against Norwich’s fairly prolific away record (34 games and counting?), and is barely better than a straight QPR win.

I’m going to go for a couple of half time/full times, and go for Draw/QPR available at 4’s from Unibet, and Draw/Draw, available at 11/2 across the board. First goal scorer I’m going to go with Taarabt at 15/2 with Skybet.

,br> Elsewhere, the standout game for the week is the Merseyside derby, with the teams sitting 17th and 18th in the table, with one win a piece from 7 games. I really want an Everton win here, but I reckon it’ll be a low scoring draw – the 1-1 is available at 6/1 on BlueSquare.

Finally, the weekend accumulator, and another six fold this week, with Wimbledon, Crawley, Leicester, Rangers and Man U to win, and Watford to NOT win. - £10 there is worth £112.30

For the Weekend:

QPR v Norwich – Half Time / Full time – Draw / QPR - £5 @ 4’s (Unibet)

QPR v Norwich – Half Time / Full time – Draw / Draw - £5 @ 11/2 (various)

QPR v Norwich – First Goal Scorer – Taarabt - £5 @ 15/2 (Skybet)

Everton vs Liverpool – 1-1 - £5 @ 6/1 (Bluesquare)

Accumulator - Wimbledon, Crawley, Leicester, Rangers, Man U, NOT Watford - £10 @ 11/1 (Betfair)
