Wright Could Stay at Town
Town manager Paul Jewell says it’s possible that keeper Richard Wright could remain with the Blues next season. The 34-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign, has made only one appearance during his third spell with the club and is expected to be out of action until the end of the season with a knee injury.
Despite his lack of involvement, Jewell says Wright could stay at Portman Road: "It’s a possibility. He’s one of those lads who is out of contract and we need to make the decision.”
In January, Wright spent time on trial with MLS side Dallas FC but Jewell says there has been no progress on that front: "I don’t think that’s going to happen now. He went over there but I think their season started quite a while ago.
"I had a brief chat with him the other day just in general and I asked him about America and he doesn’t think that looks like it’s going to happen.”
