Second Round Draw

The draw for the second round of the EFL Cup will take place on Wednesday evening at approximately 10pm.

Following Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Spireites, Dale have made it through to the second round of the League Cup for the second season in succession thanks to goals from Ian Henderson, Andrew Cannon and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

The draw is once again seeded, with the inclusion of the Premier League sides that have not qualified for Europe. This means that amongst our potential opponents will be: Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Hull, Liverpool, Middlesboro, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Watford and West Brom. You can add into that list Newcastle and Norwich who join the seeded teams as the highest ranked Championship list. The full list of seeded teams won't appear until after Wednesday evening's 1st Round games.

One interesting sidenote to the draw is that should Liverpool be drawn at home, the game will be played away from Anfield with financial compensation paid to their opponents. This is due to reconstruction work taking place at Anfield.
