There are still six games left of this season, but Saints are about to announce the details for next years season tickets this week.
Saints will announce on Wednesday the prices and details for season tickets for next season despite at this stage not being 100% sure of what division the club will be playing in.
The club have been in talks with supporters to gauge their views on prices etc so it is hoped that these tickets will be priced to not only reward those supporters that have stayed loyal to the club over what has been a turbulent last couple of years, but also to encourage both ex season ticket holders back to the fold as well as new ones.
Season ticket prices have been frozen for the last five years, but it should be noted that they were artificially high under the previous Chairman, also the fact is that the Premier League seems to have hit a wall with attendances at many clubs outside of the Big Six dropping, not alarmingly, but significantly enough to suggest that with the big clubs getting bigger and the gap widening that some fans are getting sick of the Premier Leagues polarisation where 14 clubs just seem to be in it to make up the numbers.
The boom years are over in football, if we don't want them to become those of bust, then we need to look at pricing structures that aim to encourage supporters to buy season tickets and come week in week out and that means price reductions.
