Preston's Coutts Linked Friday, 9th Dec 2011 08:43 by TWTD.co.uk Town and Charlton are both lining up a move for Preston North End midfielder Paul Coutts, according to one of this morning’s tabloids. The 23-year-old scored for North End in Town’s 2-1 victory over the Lancastrians in April's final home game of last season. The six-times-capped Scottish U21 international was a youth player with hometown club Aberdeen before moving on to Highland League side Cove Rangers. Coutts, who is 6ft tall, joined Peterborough United in July 2008 after impressing in a trial — with Charlton also said to be interested at that point - and having made his name at London Road followed Posh boss Darren Ferguson to Deepdale in January 2010 for an undisclosed fee, signing a contract until June 2013. Blues boss Paul Jewell was spotted at Preston watching the Lilywhites’ 0-0 FA Cup draw with Southend last month with Coutts playing the full 90 minutes of that game.
