Top Two Clash - Carlisle United Preview Tuesday, 8th Apr 2008 15:49 The Swans travel to Brunton Park to take on second placed Carlisle - a big night in store Victory for either side would make a huge dent in their points required tally although the cynical amongst us would probably suggest that a draw suits both sides nicely as they look to put extra daylight between themselves and Doncaster. Three more points on the road for the Swans - the thirteenth time that would be achieved this season - would see them move within one point of promotion and place a seven point gap between themselves and their hosts. Victory the other way would see a once seemingly unassailable lead cut to just one point - something we don't really want to dwell on at the moment. The Swans will be keen to put Saturday's late capitulation against Bournemouth behind them and results have traditionally been better on the road this season as have performances for some reason that is not always understood but most definitely appreciated. Marcos Painter will return to the starting line-up in place of Kevin Austin whilst Ashley Williams is also in contention for a start but I think he may have to make do with a place on the bench for this game. Paul Anderson is another who will feature in the squad but I cannot see him starting and believe the Swans will go as follows Dorus Rangel Tate Lawrence Painter Butler Pratley Britton Robinson Scotland Duffy Carlisle striker Scott Dobie hopes his goal against Yeovil after coming on from the bench will be enough to earn him a place in the starting line-up. Midfielders Paul Thirlwell and Jeff Smith (both ankle) are still missing but hope to play again this season. Prediction wise, I'm one of them cynic things referred to above and believe that the game will end in a draw - a satisfactory outcome for both sides and, on that basis, I will plump for a 1-1 scoreline. Paddy Power says Carlisle are marginal favourites for this game and available to back at 5-4 for the victory with the Swans priced at 7-4. The draw - a likely candidate for the cynics mentioned - there to be punted on at 9-4. Quite some interest in correct score this time around with 1-1 available at 11-2 and a 2-1 Swans victory priced at 9-1.
