Former Dale assistant David Flitcroft has been named as Bury's third manager of the season just a few days after leaving Barnsley.

There had been much speculation linking Flicker with the position since it became apparent that his job was on the line at Barnsley. And late on Monday evening, it was announced that Flitcroft had been appointed at Bury, with the remit of "returning the club to the Championship".

It will be the first time that Keith Hill and Flicker will have gone to head to head from opposite dugouts when Dale travel to the JD Stadium in March.
