"Our Full Backs See That Every Day"

Jefferson Montero was the name on the lips of many on Saturday afternoon after he took on, and made look very ordinary, Branislav Ivanovic who is recognised as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Montero was brilliant at every opportunity from the moment he went past the Chelsea defender in the first ten seconds of the match to the moment he was forced to leave the field of play early due to an injury niggle.

We had of course seen this before but it came as a surprise to many watching the game but clearly not Swansea fans or indeed manager Garry Monk who knows only too well what the Ecuadorian international is all about.

"You saw the damage Jeff can do," Monk said. "We see it daily – you have to feel for my full-backs because I make them train one-v-one every day.

"This was Jeff's day, but I am sure in the coming weeks we will see players like Gylfi, Andre, Bafe and Eder causing trouble themselves.

"Hopefully there will be trouble everywhere, not just on one wing."

Montero last season offered exactly the same damage to Chambers at Arsenal and he was doing the same to Aston Villa on Boxing Day before he had to limp off very early in the game.

He made three appearances in the Copa America this summer that cut short his break from football but it certainly didn't show against Chelsea on Saturday and we will all want to see more than just one game of this from Montero. Exciting times ahead
