Everton Send Back Block Of Tickets For Saturday's Game
Monday, 10th Aug 2015 13:37

Saints have put an extra 800 or so tickets on sale to home supporters for Saturday's game with Everton.

Everton have returned block 43 to Saints after failing to sell out their allocation for Saturday's game at St Mary's, in many respects you can't blame them in that its a 12.45 pm kick off and its televised, so a long and expensive trip is made even less attract for the travelling support who would have to leave around 6am from Merseyside to ensure that they get here in time for the game.

This means that around 800 extra tickets have been put on sale to Saints supporters, although the game was still a little short of selling out in home areas even before these extras went on sale.

Mind you with the cheapest price for a standard adult ticket being £37 its not cheap and it highlights the need for Saints to re think their pricing policy going forward.

Yes Nick, if they ever have dreams of expanding, we need to be selling out every week, reducing prices will greatly help this. As a season ticker I have no problem with selling spare tickets at half price, just to fill the stadium.

The club also need to seriously consider upping the matchday hospitality. The area outside the Kinsland could easily be used as an outdoor area for entertainment, food, drink etc. I was at Anfield last year, they had this and it was fantastic, plus they must have made thousands in extra revenue.
Encouraging fans to drink at the stadium rather than pubs before the game, is all extra revenue.
How about showing all the away games at the stadium? I'm sure they have certain broadcasting rights, so it could be achieved.
I think they're missing a massive opportunity to increase revenue.

Hear! Hear! Never understood why not.

Before I would ever go for entertainment at the ground, they'd need to get some decent beer in and not charge such extortionate prices for what they sell. I've started boycotting buying anything beyond my ticket at SMS.
Don't like being fleeced and having a poor experience in the process

On a footballing note, no wonder Everton fans won't come down. Their performances have been calamitous down here, due to a combination of an ageing team and our constant pressure, and they are no doubt expecting more of the same this season.
Everton need more than Delofeu and a marginally improved Stones. I'd say Baines injury is actually a blessing for them as they can then play Oviedo
